The regular monthly meeting of the West Pittston Shade Tree Commission was held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 6:30p.m., in the conference room of the West Pittston Borough Building. Commission members answering roll call: President McHugh, Vice-President Berti, Treasurer Orth, Assistant Treasurer Morris and Secretary Mansi.

I. Reading and Approval of Minutes

On motion of Orth, seconded by Mansi the minutes of the November 10, 2009 meeting were read and approved.

II. Reports

1. Treasurer Orth reported an account balance of $12, 074.41
2. Deposits included: Paula Bubul, 5.00; Don Braady, 5.00.
3. Disbursements included: William Ellis, 100.00; Lou Berti, 15.00; Website, 14.40.

D. On motion of Berti seconded by Morris the treasurer’s report was accepted through December 8, 2009.

III. Unfinished Business and New Business

1. Fines to be issued: Voted unanimously to issue letters of pending fines to the following homeowners: Dente, Lombardo and Shedlock. Copies of the letters would be sent to the mayor’s office.
2. Fines pending: fines yet to be determined: Moose and Erin Thornton.
3. Ken Heal: WPSTC to approve or deny hazardous removal (TreeVitalize Hazardous Removal Request) of three trees on tree lawn pending receipt of application.
4. Speece: WPSTC to approve or deny hazardous removal request pending receipt of application.
5. 327 Race St.: Improperly pruned cherry trees. WPSTC to review.
6. Spring planting: Morris to maintain spring planting site list.
