The regular monthly meeting of the West Pittston Shade Tree Commission was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 6:30p.m., in the conference room of the West Pittston Borough Building. Commission members answering roll call: President McHugh, Vice-President Berti, Treasurer Orth, Assistant Treasurer Morris and Secretary Mansi. Volunteers and guests included Joseph Castellino and Louisa Berti

I. Reading and Approval of Minutes

On motion of McHugh, seconded by Morris the minutes of the September 08, 2009 meeting were read and approved.

III. Unfinished Business and New Business

1. Structured Soil Ordinance: J. Castellino to research structured soil ordinance throughout the state.
2. Improper Pruning Fines: J. Castellino advised no statute requiring a 30 day answer/response for non-traffic citation. Unanimously voted to override the 30 day wait period rule prior to issuance of fines.
3. Kuharchik property: Pruning request approved.
4. Medico property: Resident selected Weidlich to conduct pruning however a permit will not be issued until it is confirmed as to whether Weidlich has a permit in West Pittston.
5. Goldsworthy: Hazardous removal approved through the TreeVitalize grant.
6. Thornton: Pruning request approved.
7. Dente: Pruning request denied.
8. Baldiga: Pruning request denied.
